James Evans, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
James is a co-manager for the Thompson LargeCap, MidCap and Bond Funds. He has been actively involved in the management of the LargeCap and Bond Funds since February 2009 and the MidCap Fund since its March 2008 inception. James is the Chief Investment Officer and a Portfolio Manager at Thompson Investment Management, Inc. (“TIM”). James has been a Principal of TIM since 2010 and has been with the firm since 2005. Prior to joining TIM, he was a Managing Director for Nakoma Capital Management in Madison, Wisconsin, which he joined in July 2000. James graduated summa cum laude from Macalester College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Computer Science. He also earned a M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting and a M.S. in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Evans completed the Applied Security Analysis Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Business School. He is a CFA charterholder.
Jason Stephens, CFA
Chief Executive Officer
Jason is a co-manager for the Thompson LargeCap, MidCap and Bond Funds. He has been actively involved in the management of the LargeCap and Bond Funds since February 2009 and the MidCap Fund since its March 2008 inception. Jason has served as Chief Executive Officer of TIM since March 2015 and has been a Portfolio Manager at TIM since 2007 and a Principal since 2010. Previously, he worked in various capacities for TIM and Thompson, Plumb & Associates, Inc. since 2002. Jason received a B.S. in English and Communication Arts, a M.A. in Arts Administration and a M.S. in Finance, each from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a CFA charterholder.
John W. Thompson, CFA
Chairman and President
John has been manager or co-manager for the Thompson LargeCap Fund and the Bond Fund since their inceptions in 1992 and the MidCap Fund since its March 31, 2008 inception. John is the Founder and President of TIM and has been its Chairman since March 2015. Until January 2004, John was Founder, President and Treasurer of Thompson, Plumb & Associates, Inc. since the firm’s 1984 inception. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Trust and Investment Officer at Firstar Bank in Madison, Wisconsin. He earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA charterholder.
