Thompson Investment Management was established in January 2004 by a group of investment professionals with over 17 average years of experience. The firm is a registered investment advisor noted for expertise in personal and corporate money management.
John
W. Thompson has been President of Thompson Investment Management
since its inception in January 2004. Most recently he was President of
Thompson, Plumb & Associates, serving in that position for 20 years.
Prior to founding Thompson, Plumb & Associates, he served as Senior
Trust and Investment Officer at Firstar Bank in Madison, Wisconsin. Mr.
Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1965 and a M.B.A. from The
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1967. He also holds
the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has 30 years of investment
management experience.
Jason
L. Stephens is a Portfolio Manager at Thompson Investment Management,
Inc. He started at Thompson, Plumb & Associates, Inc. in 2002, and joined
Thompson Investment Management, Inc. when the firm reorganized in 2003.
He was also integral in developing the firm's overall operational structure
and creating its compliance program (he served as Chief Compliance Officer
during this period). Jason earned a BS in English and Communication Arts,
an MA in Arts Administration and an MS in Finance from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the CFA Institute, holds the Chartered
Financial Analyst designation, and serves on the Board of Directors of
the CFA Society of Madison.

James
T. Evans is a Portfolio Manager at Thompson Investment Management.
Prior to joining Thompson Investment Management in March 2005, he was a
Managing Director for Nakoma Capital Management in Madison, Wisconsin for
five years. James graduated summa cum laude from Macalester College in
1997 with a BA in Economics and Computer Science. He earned an MBA in Finance
and Accounting and a MS in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
in 1999 and 2000, respectively. James completed the Applied Security Analysis
Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Business School. He also
holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Betty
Kepley joined Thompson Investment Management in March 2009 as Director
of Research. She previously worked ten years at American Family Insurance
as a portfolio manager. Betty spent fifteen years with the State of Wisconsin
Investment Board (SWIB) where she also held several other positions with
increasing responsibility including equity analyst and a leadership role
in operations where she supervised the back office staff. Betty received
a B.A. in German Languages and Literature from the University of Illinois
and holds an MBA in Finance, Investment and Banking with a concentration
in International Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Betty
holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member and past
president of the CFA Society of Madison.
